Janus Flexible Bond Fund Review

In this Janus Flexible Bond Fund Review the 6 all weather bonds in this family. All of these funds are continuously adjusting their portfolio with the ever changing market.

This Janus mutual fund family consists of Janus Flexible Bond S Shares (JADFX), Janus Flexible Bond T Shares (JAFIX), Janus Flexible Bond A Shares (JDFAX), Janus Flexible Bond C Shares (JFICX), Janus Flexible Bond I Shares (JFLEX), Janus Flexible Bond D Shares (JANFX),

The Janus Flexible Bond funds have been managed by Darrel Watters and Gibson Smith since May of 2007. Their investment strategy is mainly in US Corporate and Treasury bonds and requires a minimum of $2,500 to make an investment.

The returns for the different class of shares are similar with the JADFX having a one year return of 13.07%. The JAFIX‘s one year return was 13.29%. The JFICX‘s one year return was 12.27%. The JFLEX‘s is less than a year old but has a YTD return was 3.80%. The JANFX‘s one year return was 13.64%.

Each of these funds are rated by Morningstar with 5 stars. Janus has decided to waive all operating expenses to the D class shares until February 16, 2011. The other funds have operating expenses less than 1.0%.

With an investment strategy of only investing in Corporate and US Treasury Bonds, this is a very conservative investment whose return is above other conservative investments like CD’s.

The volatility measures for JAFIX are a Beta at 0.94, the R squared at 89 and a standard deviation of 4.40%. Most of these funds also have a turnover rate of over 200%.

This Janus Flexible Bond Fund Review for the conservative investor is positive.
