This is a Janus Triton Fund Review (JANIX) on its performance and investment strategy since its inception in February of 2005. This fund has a strategy of finding and investing in small to mid size companies with solid growth potential.

There are two fund managers that do the research and investing for Janus with this fund and they are Brian Schaub and Chad Meade. Both of them have been with this fund since July of 2006. At the present time 86.1% of the companies this fund is invested in are domestic with 7.29% from foreign countries and 6.61% is being held in cash. This fund has a turnover rate of 50% of the stock.

There are a total of 88 different company stocks in this fund of which the top 10 hold 19.87% of the assets. The major sectors the assets are in are Business Services at 21.7%, Financial Services at 12.6% Health Care at 12.5% and Software at 11.3%.

The performance of this fund since its inception is 9.28% as of March 31, 2010. The one year return was 61.3.79 and the YTD return as of May 3, 2010 was 11.94%.

The expense ratio of this fund is at 1.17% that requires a minimum of $2500 to invest. The volatility measures of this fund are a beta at 0.91, the R squared at 93 and the standard deviation is 24.36.

This is just one of the Janus Mutual funds that are rated with 5 stars from Morningstar. The Lipper Quartile ranking for 5 years is 6 out of 396. For one year it is 196 out of 536 and since its inception it is ranked as 6 out of 392.
